Places To Visit from Newton Arlosh including the Solway Coast and Cumbria
Newton Arlosh is a beautiful little village in the middle of a national Nature Reserve and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a few miles from the Solway coast and the Lake District.
On your doorstep, there is a village pub – the ever-popular Joiners Arms – and a 700-year-old church, noted for its Pele Tower and a narrow church door. They say that when there is a wedding, the first of the bridal pair to get through the door will be the boss in the marriage!
With Church House Barn as your base, you can explore in all directions:
- South to the Lake District with its Wainwright fells, lake steamers, mountain biking and attractions, including several National Trust properties;
- North to the Solway Coast and the start of Hadrian’s Wall, ideal for walkers, bird watchers and anyone wanting to relax surrounded by nature and heritage;
- West to the Cumbrian coast including the traditional centres of Maryport, Silloth and St Bees;
- East to historic Carlisle with its cathedral, castle, Border city walls and shopping.
The owners of Church House Barn have put together an amazing electronic welcome guide that covers everything to do in and around Church House Barn:
